The Commodore’s Reception

This is our official season-opener!  Members re-unite after spending their winters far and wide, celebrate the beginning of a new season and meet all the staff and volunteers who will contribute to the enjoyment of the Club and its many activities.  The Commodore addresses the group to outline activities that have taken place over the winter, plans for the future and events for the coming summer.

Royal Hour

On Friday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00, Members and their guests gather on the Club’s decks overlooking the lake for refreshments and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.  Many choose to stay on for a delicious buffet barbecue.  For those arriving from the city, it’s a great way to kick off the weekend; and for those already at the Lake, it’s an opportunity to renew friendships or share news of the week’s events – all in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.

Family Night

A great night kids 13 and under. Kids buffet dinner starts at 6:00 followed by a movie and ball hockey on the tennis courts.  Once the kids are occupied parents enjoy a casual meal and a glass of wine.  Reservations are required by noon on Wednesday.

Annual Fish Fry Club Dinner

One of our most popular family events, the Fish Fry Dinner fills our Clubhouse and outer decks with Members and their guests.  All enjoy a traditional lake meal of crispy pan-fried Pickerel fillets, complemented with a variety of salads and other well-known “shore lunch” dishes. This casual get-together is one of the highlights of the summer at RLWYC, and has been voted “No.1” by the junior set.

Yacht Club Dance

This semi-formal affair brings the boating crowd to the dance floor of RLWYC.  At least as popular as the Fish Fry (and somewhat noisier!), it offers a fine buffet dinner, followed by a live band and dancing till the wee hours.  A great occasion to dine, dance and catch up with old acquaintances from near and far.  Always held on the August long weekend, this event is a perennial sellout, so reserve your tickets early.
